Streamlining Health Services, Sorong City Government Buys 2 Ambulances Each To Doom Island And West Sorong Health Centers

SORONG - The city government of Sorong, West Papua Province procured two ambulances to facilitate health services at the local puskesmas level.

The two ambulances were officially handed over by the Sorong City Health Office to Pulau Doom Health Center and West Sorong Health Center today.

The Head of the Sorong City Health Office, Hermanus Kalasuat, explained that the procurement of the two ambulances was to facilitate and speed up health services at the Pulau Doom Health Center and the West Sorong Health Center.

In Sorong City, there are currently 10 health centers with eight health centers of which have previously received ambulance assistance.

This year, there are two health centers, namely Pulau Doom Health Center and West Sorong Health Center. As a result, as many as 10 health centers have one ambulance each.

The procurement of the two ambulances was sourced from the Special Autonomy Fund and the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) for public welfare, especially in the health sector.

"We hope that the ambulance can be used by the two health centers properly, especially for more optimal services for the community," he said.

Sorong Mayor Lambert Jitmau hoped that the ambulance assistance to the two puskesmas could support the operation of public health services.

"An ambulance is a necessity that must be owned by every puskesmas. This car is used to support the operation of the puskesmas, so that it can serve the community well," he said.
