Anticipating COVID-19, Bandung City Government Prepares An Integrated Isolation Place

BANDUNG - The City Government (Pemkot) of Bandung, West Java opened a new integrated isolation place with a capacity of 100 patients to anticipate the rise in COVID-19 cases amid the spread of Omicron.

The Acting Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, said that the integrated isolation location was on Kawaluyaan Street, Bandung City.

He said the integrated isolation site started operating on Thursday 17 February.

"Later on, COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms will be isolated from hospitals or health centers here," he said at the integrated isolation site, Tuesday, February 15.

The requirement for COVID-19 patients who want to carry out integrated isolation, he said, must first come to the public health service or hospital.

After being declared mildly symptomatic and receiving a referral to self-isolate, he said, patients can carry out integrated isolation at that location.

Even though he has prepared a new integrated isolation for COVID-19 patients, Yana hopes that the facility will not be used, which means that the number of COVID-19 transmissions in the city of Bandung is decreasing and sloping again.

"I remind you to always maintain health protocols. At least wear a mask. God willing, if we do, it will be avoided," he said.

So far, there have been 5,333 active cases of COVID-19 in Bandung. Every day for the past week, the number of new cases of COVID-19 continues to soar.
