W Sumatra - Payakumbuh Police, West Sumatra, arrested five suspects with the initials AD (37), YR (35), HFM (35), FS (33), and RJ (22) who stole crackers worth Rp. 17 million.

Payakumbuh Police Head of Criminal Investigation, AKP Aknopilindo, said the arrest of the five suspects began with a report by the owner of Toko Ratu, whose address is in Akabiluru District, Limapuluh Kota Regency.

"Initially, the complainant or victim reported the incident to the Akabiluru Police and from that report we immediately followed up and finally the suspects were narrowed down to five people," he said in Payakumbuh quoted from Antara, Monday, February 14.

He said the victim knew there was a game from his employee after receiving information from the owner of a shop in Solok City who was a friend of the victim.

"The owner of the shop where he sells this is suspicious that the price of the crackers he bought is cheaper than the market price. Because he is suspicious of the low price, he called the victim who is a friend," he said.

He revealed that the perpetrators carried out their actions by taking more crackers than the number of orders to be purchased.

"The five perpetrators were employees of two stores, namely Toko Ratu and Toko Rangkiang. Employees from these two stores worked together to commit the theft," he said.

The results of the excess goods are sold by the perpetrators to the City of Solok at a price much lower than the market price.

"The total loss of this victim reached IDR 17 million from the two actions he had taken. The first action was carried out on January 29, 2022 and the second on February 2, 2022," he said.

Meanwhile, the suspect AD (37) said that they carried out the action when the shop where he worked, namely Toko Rangkiang, ordered goods from Toko Ratu.

"At that time, we worked together, so the Ratu shop warehouse staff raised more goods than the Rangkiang Shop ordered and this is what we sell to Solok," he said.

He said that they had carried out the action twice with the number taken reaching 140 teams. "We sell the price for one team for Rp. 70 thousand, if the normal price varies, there are Rp. 80 thousand, some are Rp. 85 thousand," he said.
