Forensic Psychologist Highlights Cases Of Abuse By Warteg Bosses Against Underage Workers In Bekasi Regency

JAKARTA - The owner of a warteg on Jalan Kasuari, Mekar Mukti Village, North Cikarang, Bekasi Regency has become a target for residents after they were caught committing an act of sexual abuse against an underage employee with the initials SYN. The perpetrator launched his action when his wife returned to her hometown.

North Cikarang Police Chief Kompol Mustakim said the perpetrator with the initials EW also wanted to commit suicide because he was ashamed of his actions. The suspect tried to cut his stomach with a knife. Now the perpetrator is being treated at the Kramatjati Hospital.

Responding to the case, Forensic Psychologist Reza Indragiri Amriel said there was no urgency for psychological examinations of all kinds regarding mental conditions and problems possessed by perpetrators of sexual violence.

"Whether the perpetrator has a mental disorder or not, if we want him to be held criminally responsible and punished severely, then we must avoid talking about the possibility that the person concerned has a mental problem," he told reporters, Thursday, February 10, evening.

He continued, in cases of violence or sexual harassment, the perpetrator must be assumed to be a healthy, sane, rational person so that it can be processed legally.

"After all, he is normal every day. The proof is that he can have a shop. Later, after being examined by the police, if the question and answer takes place in a normal, normal and communicative manner, just conclude that this person is indeed healthy," he said.

Thus, the legal process can be carried out quickly.
