Complete Dossier, Cases Of 3 Garut Residents Who Claim To Be Generals Of The Indonesian Islamic State Ready For Trial

GARUT - Garut Police have delegated the case of three generals of the Islamic State of Indonesia (NII) who were arrested in connection with the case of treason to the Garut District Attorney. Furthermore, these three generals will be tried at the Garut District Court.

"It has been delegated," said Garut Police Chief AKBP Wirdhanto Hadicaksono to reporters in Garut, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, February 9.

He said the Garut Police had taken legal action by examining and detaining the three NII generals, namely Ujer January (50), Jajang Koswara (50), and Sodikin (48), a resident of Pasirwangi District, Garut.

The status of the case files for the three suspects has been completed by the Garut District Attorney. For further waiting for the trial process at the Garut District Court.

"At this time it has been declared complete by the prosecutor's office and will then be handed over to the court for the trial process," he said.

The attorney for the three suspects, Rega Gunawan, said that his party would fulfill all of the client's legal rights to obtain justice. The three clients have admitted their mistakes and apologized to all parties regarding their actions that caused a commotion.

"In accordance with the statement of the defendant at the Garut Police have regretted and apologized," he also said.

Previously, three Garut residents who claimed to be General NII then documented their statements via video until they were spread on social media and Youtube.

His action in the video was flying the NII flag which was carried out in Pasirwangi District, Garut Regency in 2021, then the police secured him to undergo further legal examination.

The three suspects were charged with Article 110 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 107 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code related to the issue of treason, then Article 28 paragraph 2, in conjunction with Article 45 a paragraph 2 of the ITE Law, then Article 24 D in conjunction with Article 66 of the law on flags, languages and national emblem and national anthem with a penalty of 15 years in prison.
