Anies: No Speculation That The COVID-19 Graves In Jakarta Are Full

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asked all parties not to speculate or suspect beyond reality by calling the special graves of the victims of COVID-19 full.

The former education minister said his party would monitor any developments in the hope that there would be no shortage of burial places.

"Do not speculate first, as if there is nowhere else to go," said Anies in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, September 8.

However, Anies said, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared an alternative burial place other than the Pondok Rangon Public Cemetery (TPU), East Jakarta and Tegal Alur, West Jakarta.

In fact, said the number one person in the Jakarta Provincial Government, the provincial government has prepared a reserve site since March 2020.

"All locations and others have been prepared since March. In fact, in March, an alternative place has been prepared," he said.

As is known, the burrow capacity for the bodies of COVID-19 at Pondok Rangon Cemetery, East Jakarta is reportedly almost full. The burial ground is expected to be full in October 2020.

Team Commander of the PJLP TPU Pondok Rangon, Nadi, (47) said the land devoted to the bodies of COVID-19 continues to decrease.

"The longest is probably until next month (October)," said Nadi, Friday, September 4.
