Police Find Out The Content Of Deadly Oplosan Alcohol In Jepara That Can Kill 9 People

JAKARTA - The Jepara Police are still waiting for the chemical substance of adulterated liquor which caused nine lives to be lost. Samples of the remaining liquor and ethanol have been sent to the Polri Labfor in Semarang.

"We have sent samples of mixed liquor and ethanol ingredients to the Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) of the Semarang Police Headquarters," said Jepara Police Chief AKBP Warsono accompanied by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Muhammad Fachrur Rozi in Jepara, Monday, February 7, quoted by Antara.

He is still waiting for the results to reveal the actual content in the mixed liquor whether there are other substances that cause the death toll.

A number of witnesses who were examined, he said, were still being investigated for their roles in the case of the bootleg liquor.

"Can we identify other suspects? Of course later. We are also waiting for the results from the National Police Headquarters Labfor," he said.

The seller of bootleg liquor, Prawiraharjo (38) has been named a suspect with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison. In addition to the nine residents who died from the bootleg liquor, previously eight residents had participated in a liquor party at a shop owned by the suspect in Karanggondang Village. , District Mlonggo, Jepara. Currently, six of them have returned home.

According to information, there were 20 people who came to the liquor party, and nine of them died.

Six of them are residents of Karanggondang Village, two others are residents of Srobyong Village, Mlonggo District, and one resident of Guyangan Village, Bangsri District.

The case of adulterated liquor which resulted in death began when on January 29, 2022 at around 12.00 WIB at the angkringan 2 Jiwo stall belonging to the suspect Prawiraharjo, around 20 youths gradually approached to buy mixed liquor while hanging out at the angkringan stall.

After a party of mixed liquor until January 30, 2022 at 03.00 WIB, the youths returned to their respective homes in a state of severe drunkenness.

On Sunday, January 30, there were two victims who died, namely the initials S and J residents of Karanggondang. The next day, Monday, January 31, five additional people died, namely the initials FY, D, IA, S, and MH at different times and places.

Furthermore, on Wednesday, February 2nd, there were two more victims who died, namely CA and HS, bringing a total of nine people who died.

The age of the victim who died from the bootleg liquor was between the ages of 19 and 32.

The suspect, Prawiraharjo, admitted that he had been selling bootleg liquor at a price of Rp. 30,000 per bottle since 6 months ago, while the angkringan stall had only been open for 2 weeks.

The raw material for ethanol, he said, was partially obtained from residents of Mambak, Jepara, and others from Semarang and Depok who were given them through online markets.
