KPK Summons Antam's Officials Regarding Allegations Of Corruption In Metal Anode Processing, This Time It's VP Operation's Turn

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled an examination of PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) Tbk's Vice President Operation UBPP LM, Ariyanto Budi Santoso. He was investigated for alleged corruption in the processing of metal anodes between PT Antam and PT Loco Montrado in 2017.

"Today, witnesses are examining corruption cases related to the cooperation in processing metal anodes between PT AT Tbk (Aneka Tambang) and PT LM (Loco Montrado) in 2017," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ali Fikri to reporters, Monday, February 7.

Besides Ariyanto, the KPK also investigated the former Accounting and Budgeting Senior Officer at PT Antam's Precious Metals Processing and Refining Business Unit, Mahendra Wisnu Wasono, who served from 2013-2017.

It is not yet known what material the investigators are investigating on these two witnesses. However, they are suspected of knowing the alleged corruption that occurred in the process of this cooperation.

Previously reported, the KPK stated that it was investigating allegations of corruption related to the cooperation in land anode management between PT Antam and PT Loco Montrado that occurred in 2017. It has not been explained in detail who the suspect and the construction of the alleged corruption are. However, the KPK has examined a number of witnesses and conducted searches and confiscation of evidence in Jakarta, Banten and West Kalimantan.
