JAKARTA - The Regent of Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Abdul Halim Muslih visited the injured and dead victims of a bus accident on Imogiri-Dlingo street, Kedungbuweng Hamlet, Wukirsari Village, Imogiri District, who were being treated at the Panembahan Senopati Regional General Hospital, Bantul.

The tourist bus carrying a group of tourists from Sukoharjo, Central Java, contained 47 passengers and their driver. The bus had a single traffic accident as it hit a cliff to the north as it descended around Bukit Bego Imogiri, Bantul.
A total of 13 people, including the driver, died and were taken to Panembahan Senopati Hospital, seven people, PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital five people, and Nur Hidayah Hospital one person, while 34 injured people were also treated at the three Bantul regional hospitals.
"And on behalf of the government and people of Bantul Regency, we feel the loss and share our condolences, hopefully, the deceased victim is accepted by Allah, all sins are forgiven," said the Regent.

The regent said the regional government together with the three hospitals would be committed to providing the best service to the victims who died, as well as passengers who survived the bus accident.
"And today we are at Panembahan Senopati Hospital, Bantul, which is continuing treatment for patients who have traffic accidents, all of which will be financed by Jasa Raharja insurance," he said.
The Regent said that while the costs of repatriation to Sukoharjo, Central Java would be taken care of and financed by the Bantul government, the survivors would also be escorted to their respective homes.
