JAKARTA – Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka is increasingly proficient in showing his maturity on the political stage of the country. This indication was seen when he became a resource person on the digital channel Cokro TV.

In a discussion session, Gibran tried to be 'seduced' by two presenters regarding his chances to run for mayor of Jakarta in 2024.

The questions asked seemed to be the key to see the perspective of the eldest President Joko Widodo in treading career advancement. However, Gibran responded to this casually.

"Yes, again this is not a decision that is in my hands. If people don't want it, they can't be forced," he said, quoted on Sunday, February 6.

Another aspect of maturity is also seen from Gibran's answer, who realizes that his leadership in Solo has only been around for a while.

"I have not even one year (became mayor) in Solo, there is no need to hurry," he said.

One aspect that he considers quite attention-grabbing is the issue of the pandemic situation which requires more serious and thorough handling.

"In Solo, the focus is on the COVID-19 problem, (so it seems) it's still taking a long time. The point is, first focus on Solo, there is still a lot of work here," he said.

In previous editorial reports, it was reported that the results of the Nusantara Strategic Network (NSN) survey revealed that Gibran Rakabuming Raka was in 10th place with a percentage of 1.3 percent from the list of the highest electability figures to win the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election.

While the top three ranks are occupied by Ganjar Pranowo, Tri Rismaharini, and Anies Baswedan as the figures most likely to serve as DKI 1 in 2024.

In detail, the electability of the Governor of Central Java Ganjar reached 34.5 percent, followed by Risma with 14.3 percent, and Anies Baswedan at 10 percent.
