KULON PROGO - Patients who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, in the last 24 hours added 12 cases, bringing the total during the pandemic to 22,351 cases.

He said that since January 21, 2022, the addition of daily COVID-19 cases has increased as previously predicted that in late January or early February there will be an increase after the year-end holiday due to the emergence of the Omicron variant which spreads very quickly.

In Kulon Progo, the high daily addition of COVID-19 cases was due to the Karangsari bridal cluster, Pengasih District. Currently, there are 63 active COVID-19 cases in Kulon Progo, the majority of which are self-isolating, except for probable COVID-19 being treated at a hospital in Bantul.

Although there is an increase in daily COVID-19 cases in Kulon Progo, Baning said the position of the Kulon Progo referral hospital ward, as of Saturday (5/2), with a zero percent occupancy rate of a total of 125 rooms spread across two government-owned hospitals and seven hospitals. private hospital.

"The hospital ward occupancy rate is zero percent, and the ER queue is also zero percent," said Baning.

Baning appealed to the public not to slack off in implementing health protocols, and to immediately vaccinate against COVID-19 if they have not been vaccinated.
