JAKARTA - The suspect in the unlawful killing case, Second Police Inspector Mohammad Yusmin Ohorella admitted that he had reminded his colleagues to be careful before the shooting incident of four FPI members in a police car.

This was stated by Yusmin when answering questions from his legal advisor Henry Yosodiningrat at the trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 2.

Yusmin conveyed the warning to his fellow police officer, Second Police Inspector Elwira Priadi. “Wir, Wir, watch out Wir!” said Yusmin, imitating his words to Elwira when FPI members tried to seize the weapons of Police Brigadier One (Briptu) Fikri Ramadhan.

Not long after Yusmin warned Elwira to be careful, a shooting took place. Yusmin said when giving testimony at the trial with the agenda of examining the defendant.

In that incident, Yusmin was in charge of driving a Xenia car where four FPI members were shot, namely Muhammad Reza (20), Ahmad Sofyan alias Ambon (26 years), Faiz Ahmad Syukur (22), and Muhammad Suci Khadavi (21).

Meanwhile, Brigadier Fikri and Ipda Elwira guarded the four FPI members when they were arrested in the Rest Area Km 50 of the Cikampek Toll Road following a shootout between the police and FPI Troops on Jalan Simpang Susun Karawang Barat on December 7, 2020.

However, only Fikri and Yusmin participated in the legal process until they became defendants in court. The reason is that Ipda Elwira, who participated in the shooting in the car, had died before the trial.

"Brother's statement, Wir watch out Wir does that mean what is the order to be careful or what?" asked the legal advisor asking for confirmation from Yusmin.

“When I shouted, Wir was alert, Wir just warned me to be careful. Maybe, at that time I warned (Elwira) because there was a struggle for weapons, "said Yusmin.

The public prosecutors, including prosecutors Zet Todung Allo, Paris Manalu, Erna, and Fadjar, also studied Ipda Yusmin's statement during the trial.

Prosecutor Erna at the trial had asked Yusmin to explain why he did not remind his colleagues to be careful when taking action against FPI members.

“Why didn't you as the driver remind Elwira to immobilize? Do you know the effect of the bullet is lethal?” asked Prosecutor Erna.

Yusmin said that when the shooting occurred, he was focused on driving and only found out the consequences of the shooting were deadly after he pulled the car over.

Ipda Yusmin and First Brigadier Fikri have been charged by the public prosecutor with arbitrary/unlawful murder. The two defendants were charged by the public prosecutor with Article 338 and Article 351 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code. The penalty is 15 years in prison and seven years in prison.

Brigadier Fikri and Ipda Yusmin underwent a trial on the agenda of examining the defendants at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday. The two of them were summoned in turns to provide information and answer questions from the public prosecutor and the panel of judges regarding the shooting incident of six FPI members.
