Head of the Bandung Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) Deden Ridwansyah, as quoted in a Basarnas press release received in Garut, Sunday, said that a young man named Muhammad Kamaludin (26) was reported missing on Friday, January 28.

The young man from Andir Cibogo Village, Cibiuk Kaler Village, Cibiuk District, Garut Regency, climbed Mount Haruman alone on Wednesday, January 26.

On Friday, January 28, he messaged his mother via WhatsApp informing him that he had lost his way home.

After failing to contact their son, Muhammad Kamaludin's parents reported it to the police and the Search and Rescue Office. However Muhammad Kamaludin managed to return home on Saturday, January 29, evening.

"I was confused and didn't know where to go home, but in the end the survivors returned home via the same route as the one he took when climbing Mount Haruman," said Deden, adding that Muhammad Kamaludin arrived home safe and healthy.
