JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito appreciated the policies of the Depok and Bogor City Governments to limit the mobility of their citizens by implementing a curfew during the proportional PSBB period.

Wiku asked other regions that share a high risk of COVID-19 transmission to imitate the policies implemented in the Jakarta buffer area.

"We appreciate the Depok and Bogor governments. This is what the local government as a task force at the regency / city and provincial levels should do, so that they can immediately take quick steps so that conditions are under control," Wiku said in a Youtube broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Thursday, 3 September.

This policy, according to Wiku, is in line with Presidential Instruction Number 6 of 2020 concerning Increasing Discipline and Law Enforcement of Health Protocols in Prevention and Control of COVID-19.

Wiku continued, currently there are 26 provinces that have completed regional head regulations related to the formation of a coordinating team for synchronizing implementation of protocol discipline and law enforcement of health protocols.

"Then, there are eight provinces that are in the process of being resolved. After completion, this discipline is immediately enforced so that the public can be disciplined to carry out this health protocol," said Wiku.

For information, the City Governments of Depok and Bogor implement a curfew system. People in Bogor are not allowed to congregate after 21.00 WIB, starting August 29.

Meanwhile, Depok prohibits residents from doing activities outside the home when it is past 20.00 WIB. Malls, cafes, restaurants, and restaurants have also been asked to limit operations to a maximum of 18.00 WIB.

As a rule there will be few exceptions for delivery services. The Depok City Government allows its operational time to be up to 21.00 WIB. This regulation was made as part of the efforts of the Depok City Government to control the transmission of COVID-19.

Restrictions on mobility by implementing a curfew were carried out in line with the West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil's decision to extend the proportional PSBB period in Bogor, Depok and Bekasi until September 29.
