Suspicious Bag At Sunda Kelapa Mosque That Only Contains Clothes

JAKARTA - At the end of 2019, Jakarta was shocked by the discovery of a bag suspected of containing suspicious items. The bag is in the area of the Sunda Kelapa Mosque, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Early Tuesday, December 31, the bag was first found by a member of the Paul Church security post. According to her testimony, previously the bag was carried by a man.

The man previously walked towards the Paul Church PAM post from Taman Suropati with a backpack. After that, he was immediately reprimanded by members of the PAM post.

However, the unidentified man covered his face and immediately ran towards the Sunda Kelapa Mosque area. Then, the members immediately chased him. Unfortunately, the man managed to escape.

Meanwhile, the backpack that was suspected of containing suspicious items was dumped into the Sunda Kelapa Mosque area. So, panic also occurred because of the contents of the bag.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Hary Kurniawan said that to ensure the contents of the bag, the Gegana team had mobilized to check it. Meanwhile, the area around the mosque was also sterilized from visitors.

"Calling the Gegana team first to check," said Hary.

After the Gegana team arrived, a check was immediately carried out. In full clothes, the bag was inspected. But apparently, the suspicious object contained only a few pieces of clothing.

"Just finished processing the TKP by the Gegana team, and the result is that the bag contains no suspicious items, only contains clothes and pants," said Hary.
