Father, Mother And Son In Kendari Died Of COVID-19

KENDARI - A family consisting of father, mother and child in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi was declared dead due to being confirmed positive for COVID-19.

Spokesperson for the Southeast Sulawesi COVID-19 Task Force, La Ode Rabiul Awal said the three of them died at the Bahteramas Kendari Hospital at different times. The three of them are registered as residents of Kendari City.

"The first child died with the initials ENI (54) on Sunday (30/8). Then followed by the father with the initials NT (77) on Tuesday (1/9 /). Finally, his mother or wife NT died Thursday (3/9 /) at 04.30 Wita dawn earlier, "said Rabiul as quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 3.

The head of the Southeast Sulawesi Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) explained that the three patients entered the Bahteramas Hospital Emergency Unit (UGD) at the same time. The mother with the initials NT was admitted to the hospital on August 28.

"The results of the rapid test (rapid test for COVID-19) of the three patients were reactive. The results of the swab test were positive and the x-rays were (there was) pneumonia," explained Rabiul.

Based on data from the Southeast Sulawesi COVID-19 Task Force until Thursday, 3 September 2020 at 10:00 a.m. local time, the total number of cases died was 33 people and cases confirmed positive COVID-19 were 1,623 people.

1,092 patients were declared cured, while 499 people were undergoing treatment or independent isolation.
