Man In North Barito Desperately Climbs A 44 Meter Tall Telecommunication Tower

MUARA TEWEH - A man named Atak (30), a resident of Juking Hara, North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan, was desperate to climb a cell phone tower and stand on the peak at a height of 44 meters on Jalan Panglima Batur Muara Teweh.

Reported by Antara, Wednesday, January 26, the incident occurred at around 15.45 WIB, Tuesday, January 25. The man in black and beige pants is a speech-impaired or mute patient.

His reckless action caused an uproar among residents who were in the vicinity of the location, either crossing Jalan Sengaji Hulu or Panglima Batur Muara Teweh.

Many people who came to the location witnessed this, causing traffic jams.

The police along with BPBD officers and sub-district officials, the man's family and friends also persuaded him to let Atak come down.

At around 16.30 WIB, Atak agreed to come down, after being persuaded by his colleague named Noval who came to the location and was willing to go up the tower to visit him, followed by the Head of Teweh Tengah Sub-district Jati Prayogo and other BPBD members.

North Barito Police Chief AKP Gede Pasek, who at that time came to the location, thanked Noval for being willing to help by persuading his friend Atak, so he was willing to step down.

Atak's actions are very dangerous and should not be followed by other citizens. "We from the Police would like to thank Brother Noval," said the Chief of Police.
