Army Chief: Inauguration Of Kostrad Commander Major General Maruli Simanjuntak Next Week

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD), General TNI Dudung Abdurachman, said the inauguration of Major General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak as Pangkostrad next week.

"The inauguration of the Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) will be carried out at the same time as the IX/Udayana Regional Military Commander and other regional commanders. It is planned that the inauguration will be held on Monday, January 31", said the Army Chief of Staff after leading the Army Commanding Ceremony for the Army of the Jabodetabek area at Monas Square, Central Jakarta, quoted by Antara on Tuesday, January 25.

The commanders who will be inaugurated include Pangdam XVIII/Kasuari, Maj. Gen. TNI I Nyoman Cantiasa, who serves as Pangkogabwilhan III (Commander of the Joint Regional Defense Command III), Pangdam III/Siliwangi, Maj. Gen. Agus Subiyanto, who serves as Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Pangdam XVII Cenderawasih, Major General TNI Ignatius Yogo, who serves as Dankodiklatad (Commander of the Doctrine, Education and Training Command for the Indonesian Army), and Pangdam IX Udayana Maj. Gen. TNI Maruli Simanjuntak as Pangkostrad (Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command).

TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa transferred and promoted 328 high-ranking TNI officers, one of which was Major General TNI Commander IX/Udayana Major General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak as Pangkostrad.

The mutation was stated in Decree No. 66/I/2022 dated January 21, 2022, concerning Dismissal from and Appointments in Position within the TNI which was signed by the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, General TNI Andika Perkasa.

In this decree, it was recorded that 328 TNI (Army) officers had received the new positions, and 28 of them entered the positions of the new TNI units.

The TNI Commander emphasized that the appointment of Major General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak as Pangkostrad was based on a professional assessment so that he was worthy of the position.

"So, Maruli's appointment is by professional judgment and is indeed very worthy of being the Commander of Kostrad", said TNI Commander General TNI Andika after attending the House of Representatives Commission I Working Meeting at the House of Representatives building, Jakarta, Monday, January 24.

The TNI commander said that many TNI AD (Indonesian Army) soldiers with the rank of major general (major general) have the potential to become three-star generals (lieutenant general).

Because of that, according to him, the performance of TNI soldiers while serving as military commanders is one of the assessments.

"The position of Pangdam (Commander of the Military Region) is actually an aspect of assessing whether there was something in the office that made him worthy (to become Pangkostrad)", said Andika Perkasa.
