Police Arrest Robbers Throwing Fish Bombs At Residents

SIDOARJO - The Satreskrim Team of the Sidoarjo Police, East Java arrested a robber with a gun throwing a bondet (fish bomb) at residents of the Kebonagung Permai Housing Complex, Sukodono, Sidoarjo, East Java.

Sidoarjo Police Chief Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro said the perpetrator who had been arrested had the initials H, a resident of Pasrepan, Pasuruan.

"His action, which was to take a motorbike parked on the terrace of a resident of the Kebonagung Permai housing, was caught by one of the residents. At that time, residents who want to pray at dawn. Perpetrators are trying to steal vehicles belonging to residents," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 24.

The police chief said that when he found out that his actions were known to a resident, perpetrator H tried to run away with a friend of G, who was waiting for him on a motorbike.

“However, the residents managed to pull the T-shirt of perpetrator H so that he fell off the motorbike. Feeling trapped, perpetrator H threw a bondet at the resident. The resident became the victim of a blast that hit his body, including the body of the perpetrator," continued Kombes Kusumo.

From this incident, the investigation team of the Satreskrim Polresta Sidoarjo succeeded in identifying the perpetrator as H. Then he was arrested on January 23, 2022 at his home in Pasrepan, Pasuruan and one other perpetrator is still being searched.

“Perpetrator H is a recidivist in the Pasuruan area, and is on the wanted list for a robbery case in Sukolilo, Surabaya. The case is the same as throwing a bridle," said Kombes Pol. Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro.

The perpetrator H is subject to a maximum prison sentence of 20 years as stipulated in Article 1 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law no. 12 of 1951 on firearms and explosives.
