BENGKULU - A fire broke out on Jalan Mangga 2, Lingkar Timur Sub-district, Singaran Pati District, Bengkulu City, Monday, January 24, resulting in a house and a sedan belonging to a resident named Kinta (35), charred.

Quoted by Antara, the head of the Bengkulu City Fire Department, Yuliansyah, said in Bengkulu on Monday that the cause of the fire was suspected to be due to a leak of 3 kilograms of LPG gas.

The wind conditions were quite strong at the time of the incident, causing the fire to quickly spread to flammable objects.

"According to the information we received, we suspect that there was a 3-kilogram LPG gas leak from the victim's kitchen," said Yuliansyah.

Based on temporary information, the fire first appeared around 13.00 WIB and is thought to have originated in the victim's kitchen.

According to him, when the fire broke out in the house, there were only children and in-laws of Kinta while the victim was working, and his wife Harmini was selling Pempek Panggang which was not far from her house.

"The fire was extinguished in less than an hour," he said.

His party deployed around 11 fire engines because the location of the fire is a densely populated area and it is feared that the fire will spread quickly.
