JAKARTA - Fire and Rescue Service Sub-dept. officers succeeded in evacuating two monitor lizards that were nesting in the ceiling of a resident's house in Rancahaur Village, Malang Nengah Village, Pagedangan District, Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, last Sunday afternoon.

Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the Tangerang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency, Abdul Munir, said officers evacuated the monitor lizard that was nesting in the ceiling of the villager's house from 10.30 WIB to 16.00 WIB.

"The monitor lizard execution was carried out safely and two monitor lizards were found," he said in Tangerang as quoted by Antara, Monday, January 24.

Hadiyanto, a resident whose ceiling is a nesting place for lizards, said that at first he thought it was rats that made noise on the ceiling of his house.

"We thought the noisy mouse on the ceiling was actually a monitor lizard. It's been a long time, almost a year the noise is like a mouse running on the ceiling of the house," he said.

He expressed his gratitude to government officials who had helped catch the monitor lizard nesting in the ceiling of his house.
