Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT) as toll road managers are asked to focus on repairing damaged roads so that the minimum service standards (SPM) for toll roads can be met.

"I ask for permanent repairs to be completed by the end of April 2022. I remind again that the SPM must be met because the public has already paid the toll rate and must get good service," said Minister Basuki in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, 21 January.

The Minister of PUPR inspected the condition of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road section of the Terbanggi Besar- Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung toll road in Lampung Province and part of the Kayu Agung- Palembang-Betung (Kpalbetung) toll road section in South Sumatra today.

Minister Basuki asked BUJT PT Hutama Karya (Persero) and PT Waskita Toll Road to quickly repair and close the holes/cracks in the Terbanggi Besar - Pematang Panggang - Kayu Agung sections and the Kayu Agung - Palembang - Betung sections.

Several segments of the road must be reconditioned and reconstructed, including the leveling of the bridge oprit which has decreased due to its location on soft soils or swamps.

The Minister of PUPR is also paying attention to the cracked or falling toll road barrier concrete.

BUJT is currently carrying out handling, including repairing a new pavement layer, re-casting it with fast setting concrete, laying the pavement layer using an asphalt finisher and compacting it, and a new AC-WC layer being spread with an asphalt finisher and compacted.

The 360 km Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung-to Kramasan-Palembang toll road section is a continuation of the Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar Toll Road which has been operating since March 2019.

The construction of this toll road aims to improve connectivity between Lampung Province and South Sumatra Province and from Bakauheni Port as the entry point for Sumatra Island to the eastern region of Sumatra.

In his review, Minister Basuki also asked BUJT managing the KM 234 A rest area to increase reforestation with large trees.

Planting trees in the rest area is not only aimed at beautifying the environment and the landscape of the area, it also aims to make it more shady and can be enjoyed by all people.
