Bad News From Tangerang, The COVID-19 Numbers Suddenly Soared

JAKARTA - There was an increase in daily cases of COVID-19 in Tangerang City on January 19, 2022, to 84 cases from the previous three to seven cases per day.

"Currently, the City of Tangerang is again being faced with daily cases that are quite soaring. The trend of increasing cases must be prevented or suppressed with a series of surveillance that must be alerted again," said Tangerang City Regional Secretary Herman Suwarman, Thursday, January 20, as reported by Antara.

He said in accordance with the instructions of the Mayor of Tangerang, Arief R Wismansyah, namely all OPD, Camat, and Lurah not to be careless with the current situation.

The form of supervision that is alerted is the Joint Safe Operation (OAB) with targets at markets, malls, offices, restaurants, cafes, to various corners of the city which are often used as hangout places, including in residential alleys.

"We both know, we are both tired of all this. However, this is a condition that we must face wisely and not be selfish. With that, the public must be re-socialized, again advised not to be careless by tightening health protocols and following vaccinations," he said.

He continued, the supervisors who were again alerted were the Camat and Lurah to check and reaffirm the Environmental Task Force starting from the Neighborhood Units (RT, RW), Kelurahan to Sub-district levels. No exception, the readiness and strength of Kampung Tangguh Jaya Si Gacor in every settlement to be in a state of alert.

"Starting from personnel, supporting infrastructure to be re-strengthened. Prepare as much as possible, prevent as early as possible so that all risks can be minimized. We involve the community in handling this as the front line, and make sure all stakeholders are with the community to prevent an increase in cases together," he said.

He also appealed to re-strengthen the socialization so that the public understands the existing conditions and all the regulations or policies that are enforced.

"Don't let your guard down and take it lightly, this requires the cooperation of all parties. The government, society, and all lines without exception," he said.
