BMKG Weather Forecast, Rain Hits Several Cities, Jakarta's Conditions Are Like This

JAKARTA - Before you go any further with today's activities, it's a good idea to first listen to the weather forecast from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). According to observations, BMKG estimates that most major cities in the country will experience light rain on Thursday, January 20.

Major cities that are expected to receive light rain are Semarang, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Samarinda, Tarakan, Ternate, Manokwari, Makassar, Kendari and Manado. Meanwhile, the cities that are predicted to receive moderate rain are Denpasar, Bandung, Surabaya and Mataram. The cities that are expected to rain heavily are Mamuju, Kupang, and Ambon.

In addition, the BMKG also estimates that there are a number of big cloudy cities, namely Serang, Yogyakarta, Central Jakarta, Pangkal Pinang, Tanjung Pinang, Bandar Lampung, Jayapura and Palembang.

The big city that is predicted to be bright by BMKG is Banda Aceh. The cities that are expected to be cloudy are Bengkulu, Gorontalo, Jambi, Pekanbaru, Padang and Medan. In the evening, BMKG predicts that most cities in the country will also be cloudy with light rain.

Meanwhile, for the capital city of DKI Jakarta, it will experience light rain on Thursday morning until noon in a number of administrative city areas and the weather conditions are predicted to be cloudy in the evening.

Based on information quoted from the official BMKG website quoted in Jakarta, Thursday, light rain is predicted to occur in the morning and afternoon in South Jakarta and East Jakarta.

The areas of West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands are forecasted to be cloudy in the morning and afternoon. The Thousand Islands also has the potential for light rain at night, while the rest of Jakarta is forecasted to be cloudy at night.

The BMKG also issued an early warning to be aware of the potential for rain that could be accompanied by lightning and strong winds in the Thousand Islands and North Jakarta in the morning.

The weather for Tangerang City as a buffer zone for the capital is forecasted to be cloudy throughout the day. Meanwhile, other capital cities, such as Bekasi, are only cloudy in the morning and light rain in the afternoon and evening.

Depok City and Bogor City are forecasted to experience light rain throughout the day. The BMKG also issued an early warning against the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds from day to night for the City of Depok, as well as the City and Regency of Bekasi.
