There Are No Privileges, The Police Will Still Take Firm Action On Special Plate Vehicles If They Violate

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya recorded that 124 vehicles with special license plates or gods had been fined. With the number of actions taken, it reflects that the users of the special plates are not obeying the rules.

Hundreds of vehicles were prosecuted within 3 days. Where, enforcement was carried out in several locations in the capital city.

"Since Monday (17 January or) in three days there have been 124 vehicles with special or secret STNK plates which we have acted on with tickets," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Wednesday, January 19.

Hundreds of vehicles were dealt with with various violations. However, most of them are for violating the odd-even rule.

"Various types of violations, especially the most odd-even violations and road shoulder violations and violations of the use of rotator and siren," said Sambodo.

On the other hand, Sambodo emphasized that the action taken against vehicles with special license plates is proof that the rules apply to anyone. Although, for those who use special plates.

"It's the same as other vehicles, so there are no privileges before the law against these vehicles," he said.

Even though the drivers use special number plates, such as the RF code, the police will not hesitate to take action if they commit violations.

"There is no god plate, everyone must obey the rules," said Sambodo.

Tightening the Issuance of “God” Plates

With the large number of violators from vehicles using special plates, Sambodo made a decision. He will tighten the issuance of special license plates for motorized vehicles.

"Yes, it will be tightened (publishing, ed)," he stressed

He said, tightening of this publication has been started since this week. In the process, the tightening will be carried out at the time of the first application until the extension of the validity period of the Vehicle Number Certificate (STNK).

"Starting from this week, we have tightened the application for secret or special STNKs, whether new applications or extensions," said Sambodo.

Henceforth, the application for the manufacture to the extension of the special plate will have to go through a long process. Because, must get permission from various parties.

"For Police service vehicles there must be a recommendation from Propam, either from the Propam division or the Propam Bid, while for special STNK there must be a recommendation from either the Baintelkam or Ditintelkam Polda Metro Jaya," said Sambodo.
