Brother-in-law Died In Prison, Edo Kondologit Asked The Chief Of Police To Intervene

JAKARTA - Singer Edo Kondologit assessed that there was something strange about the death of his brother-in-law George Karel Rumbino alias Riko while being detained at the Sorong Police Headquarters, West Papua. Edo also demanded justice for this incident.

This is because there are gunshot scars and marks of violence on several parts of the body of his brother-in-law George Karel Rumbino alias Riko.

"They reasoned that they ran away. How did they run? That she was still in police custody, they should not be able to act arbitrarily like that," said Edo Kondologit when confirmed by the media crew, reported by Antara, Monday, August 31.

Edo also admitted that he was very angry and disappointed to see what happened to his brother who died unnaturally. For that, he is also preparing a lawsuit so that the case of Riko's death while in detention is investigated.

"We will take the legal route, today we will lead our Mamahas, after that our family will make an official complaint to the Police Chief to be prosecuted properly. Those who are guilty must be dealt with properly, this is a rule of law, not a barbaric country," he said.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Police Public Relations Inspector General Pol Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said the West Papua Police had formed a team to investigate possible procedural errors by the police that caused singer Edo Kondologit's brother-in-law to die while detained.

"The West Papua Police Chief has formed a team led by the West Papua Regional Police Dirreskrimum and the West Papua Regional Police Head of Propam to investigate the case. If there are violations committed by members, of course (members who violate) will be prosecuted," said Argo in his press statement.

Kapolres Sorong City AKBP Ary Nyoto Setiawan has released the complete investigation results of the cause of the death of Riko who was arrested on suspicion of violent crime accompanied by rape.

Ary said that when investigators wanted to develop Riko's actions to find the rope used to ensnare the victim, the suspect Riko tried to run away. However, the suspect hit the glass door, causing injuries to the suspect's feet and head.

Not only that, an attempt to escape was also carried out when the suspect was about to be taken by the investigation team by car to the Doom Stop Port.

On the way, just before the Al Jihad Mosque, the suspect who was in the back seat of the car tried to grab a firearm from one of the team members. The police then took measured decisive action against the suspect.

Ary then said that the suspect was taken to the Sele Be Solu Hospital to get treatment.

After leaving the hospital, the suspect Riko was brought back to the Sorong City Police Headquarters. When the examination was about to be carried out, Riko complained of dizziness and the investigation was stopped. Riko is returned to the detention cell.

In the detention cell, said Ary, the suspect was beaten by one of the other detainees.
