Verdict Session On Alleged Corruption Of PT ASABRI, Heru Hidayat's Fate Determined Today

JAKARTA – Based on the Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) of the Central Jakarta District Court, Heru Hidayat's trial will be held today, Tuesday, January 18, at 10.00 WIB.

"Decision, at 10:00, Kusuma Atmadja's room," was quoted from SIPP PN Central Jakarta, Tuesday, January 18.

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) demanded Heru with the death penalty. In this case, Heru was found guilty of committing corruption together with former ASABRI President Director Adam Damiri and Sonny Widjaja, and several other parties who caused a loss to the state of IDR 22.7 trillion.

Heru is said to have received around Rp. 12.6 trillion, Sonny Widjaja of Rp. 64.5 billion, Ilham Wardhana Bilang Siregar of Rp. 241.7 billion, and Adam Damiri of Rp. 17.9 billion. Heru was also required to pay a replacement money of Rp. 12.6 trillion.

Heru is also believed to have been proven guilty of money laundering (TPPU). He received illegal profits from the management of PT ASABRI's shares of around Rp. 12.6 trillion, which Heru later disguised by buying assets.

Meanwhile, Heru's legal advisory team objected to the prosecutor's demands. They considered the charge to be against the rules because the prosecutor did not include an article that allows for the death penalty in his indictment.

"In his indictment, the Public Prosecutor charged Heru Hidayat with Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law, as well as Articles 3 and 4 of the Anti-Money Laundering Law. So, how could the Public Prosecutor sue Heru Hidayat outside of the articles in the indictment," said Heru's lawyer, Kresna Hutauruk, told reporters, Tuesday, January 7th.
