General Dudung Voices About Recruiting Santri And Santriwati To Become TNI Soldiers: Hafiz Al-Quran Becomes Priority

JAKARTA - KSAD General TNI Dudung Abdurahman is serious about his desire to recruit students and female students to become Indonesian Army Soldiers. The intention was reiterated when he arrived at the typical Kempek Cirebon Islamic Boarding School.

In front of the caregivers and the santriwati, General Dudung again invited the santri and female students to join.

Sitting at the typical Kempek Cirebon Islamic Boarding School in a series of working visits in the Cirebon Regency area, Sunday, January 16, as reported by the Dispenad. In this place, the Army Chief of Staff and his entourage were received by the Caretaker of Ponpes KH. Moh. Mostafa Aqil Siroj.

"This year, the TNI AD opens the opportunity for santri and female students to register and join as Indonesian Army Soldiers through the recruitment of soldiers, both NCO candidates and special enlisted students and interfaith students, for those who are Hafiz Al-Quran, there will be the priority," explained General Dudung.

He believes that TNI AD soldiers who have a santri background have good morals and behavior. So it is able to implement the Eight Mandatory TNI, Sapta Marga, and Soldier's Oath correctly in the field.

Furthermore, the Army Chief of Staff also reminded the students who are interested in becoming TNI AD soldiers to prepare themselves as well as possible, because the students will also go through a selection process.

Previously, Dudung's wish was first expressed when monitoring the 212 reunion. He said that in the near future the Indonesian Army would recruit prospective soldiers from santri and interfaith alumni to become soldiers in the Army.

The Commander of the Regional Military Command (Pangdam) V/Brawijaya, Major General TNI Nurchahyanto stated his readiness to recruit students to become soldiers of the Army (AD).

"The policy of our leadership, especially in the TNI AD, will begin with the recruitment of students to become soldiers," he said after holding a friendly meeting with Kiai at the East Java PWNU Office in Surabaya last Tuesday, January 11.

According to him, the opportunity has been opened and it will be tried to disseminate information to students and NU regarding the implementation of recruitment.

"This is an extraordinary opportunity. If soldiers are recruited from santri, especially from NU, their commitment to the Unitary Republic of Indonesia and nationalism is guaranteed," he said.

"We will follow up by conveying it to the commanders at the Kodim down to the lower ranks," he added.

Meanwhile, the friendly visit to the Kiai was received by the Chair of the East Java PWNU KH Marzuki Mustamar and the Deputy Rais Syuriah of the East Java PWNU KH Anwar Iskandar.
