Police Call Changes To Security Guard Uniforms Only Clothing

JAKARTA - The National Police stated that the change in the uniform of the security unit (Satpam) was only on clothing. Later, the clothes will be beige.

"Now what will be studied is the clothes, the clothes are planned to be changed to a lighter color than the clothes of members of the Police," said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Thursday, January 13.

The process of changing the color of the security guard's uniform is still under review, especially in terms of regulations. Where, the Police Regulation (Perpol) that overshadows this.

"Well, when is it planned to be replaced, of course if it happens, a police regulation or a perpol will be issued first, a police regulation that regulates security guard uniforms and will be effective a year after the perpol is formed," said Ramadhan.

On the previous occasion, Ramadhan said the reason for the uniform change was because people were confused. They find it difficult to distinguish between police and security guards with almost the same uniform color.

"The current uniform is too similar to the police uniform. This causes confusion and difficulties for the community to distinguish between police and security guards," said Ramadhan.

In addition, continued Ramadhan, security guards must have their own identity. This is because the security guard is the bearer of limited police duties.

"Security security is a new profession as the bearer of limited police functions, it needs to have its own identity that is different from the National Police as its supervisor," he said.

After the assessment process is complete, the new uniforms for security guards will be published directly to the public. The plan, the publication process will be on January 31.

"On the anniversary of the Security Guard, a new uniform color will be introduced," said Ramadhan.
