Son Of KH Maimoen Zubair Asks Santri To Follow His Father's Way Of Handling Radical Movements

JAKARTA - The Deputy Governor of Central Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen, asked students at various Islamic boarding schools to imitate the late KH Maimoen Zubaer (Mbah Moen) in countering radical movements that have the potential to cause division in the Republic of Indonesia.

"Mbah Moen's love for the Republic of Indonesia is always manifested in his prayers and teachings," he said, in Semarang, Thursday, January 13, as reported by Antara.

According to Maimoen, the students must contribute in the form of an understanding of the dangers of radical movements, terrorism, and issues of secularism.

In addition, the students also need to provide an understanding to the community about Islamic boarding schools in the midst of the rise of parties acting on behalf of Islamic boarding schools which makes the community quite nervous.

"This must be answered by the students, especially members of the Gayeng Nusantara Santri. To also provide 'this is a full Islamic boarding school, the scientific chain is connected to the Prophet'," he said.

The Deputy Governor added that students are required to be able to contribute and collaborate with the government, one of the real steps that must be taken is to participate in the success of the Covid-19 vaccination.

"Economic growth is also the focus of students who need to be put forward, especially during this pandemic, economic growth is also the focus of the government so that Indonesia can survive," he said.
