JAKARTA - The DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that there were three fallen trees in three locations. The fall of the tree was caused by rain and strong winds that hit the capital.

Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Data and Information Center Mohammad Insaf said one of the fallen trees hit a car in the Sunter area.

"The facility was affected by a fallen tree, a car unit at 18.07 WIB on Jalan Blok K Agug Perkasa 9, Sunter Agung Village, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta," Insaf said in a statement, Wednesday, January 12.

In addition, two other fallen trees occurred on Jalan Mangga Besar 2, Taman Sari, West Jakarta at 17:56 WIB and on Jalan Banyumas, Menteng Village, Central Jakarta at 17:52 WIB.

"The situation is currently being handled by the Forestry Service, Firefighters, BPBD, PPSU, and Satpol PP," said Insaf.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta BPBD announced the potential for extreme weather, namely rain with moderate to heavy intensity for a week from January 9 to 15, 2021.

This rain can be accompanied by lightning or thunder and strong winds with an alert status in the DKI Jakarta area.
