One Student At SMAN 71 School Jakarta Is Positive For COVID-19, The Results Of The Close Contact Test Of Dozens Of Other Students Are Negative

JAKARTA - As many as 35 students of SMA Negeri 71 School Jakarta underwent a PCR test to trace close contacts after one 12th grader at the school was exposed to COVID-19.

The principal of SMA Negeri 71 Jakarta, Acep Mahmudin, said that the test results of the dozens of students had already been released. Acep said all of them tested negative for COVID-19.

"The test results have been released. As many as 30 people were tested at the puskesmas and 5 people were self-tested. Alhamdulillah, all of them were negative", Acep said in a short message, Wednesday, January 12.

For information, one grade 12 students of SMAN 71 School East Jakarta was found to be exposed to the Omicron variant of COVID-19. To avoid transmission, the principal temporarily closed face-to-face learning (PTM), and the learning pattern was resumed online.

Acep Mahmuddin said the temporary closure was carried out from Monday, January 10 to next Friday.

"The report that came in was one child. The child attended school on Monday, January 3, Tuesday, he did not attend. Tuesday - Friday this student was also absent", said Acep.

Currently, the SMAN 71 Jakarta school building has been temporarily closed because one of the students was exposed to the COVID-19 Virus. This was known based on the results of the PCR swab test conducted a few days earlier.

"On Friday afternoon we received news from his homeroom teacher that this student was positively confirmed for COVID-19", he said.
