Mayor Of Surabaya: Officials Not In Accordance With Performance Contracts Must Resign

SURABAYA - Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi asked officials in the Surabaya City Government, East Java, who work not according to the output (direct results) and outcomes (long-term results) according to the performance contract to be ready to resign.

"When there are officials who cannot fulfill their performance contracts, they must be ready to resign and be ready to be dismissed without demanding anything," said Mayor Eri Cahyadi, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 11.

Eri emphasized that during his tenure as Mayor of Surabaya, he did not want any difference between structural and functional officials because both have the same duties and obligations, namely serving the citizens of the City of Surabaya.

"If someone says functional is not structural, it's role is not important, it's a big mistake. So, in the future there should never be a difference between structural and functional," he said.

He also explained that every employee within the Surabaya City Government has a performance contract that is valid for a year. In the performance contract, there are output and outcome agreements that must be adhered to.

If the outputs and outcomes that have been signed in the performance contract are not kept, he continued, the structural and functional employees are automatically invited to resign from their positions.

"If you can't fulfill it or it doesn't match the outputs and outcomes in the attachment to the minutes. Please go down," he said.

The mayor, who is familiarly called Cak Eri, also reminded specifically the functional ranks assigned to the Surabaya City Education Office (Dispendik). He reminded that there should be no difference between public and private elementary and junior high schools.

"Don't let our children's mentality be affected because of the differences between the state and the private sector. These thoughts (competition and differences) must be eliminated," said Cak Eri.

In addition, Cak Eri also reminded the functional staff on duty at the Surabaya City Health Office. He hoped that the structural and functional staff in the Surabaya Health Office must know the condition of public health, especially the stunting case in the City of Heroes.

According to him, functional tasks are the most appropriate to overcome the stunting problem in the field.

"The difference is that the structural one takes care of the budget. Now, if it becomes functional, if you can, let's go down, panjenengan is all needed by the community, especially health and education, there is still malnutrition, pregnant women, children can't go to school and so on," said Ms. Eri.

He also continued to request that the Camat and Lurah take part in the field to assist and collaborate with functional officials. Not only that, he also reminded the Regional Secretary, assistants, OPD heads and expert staff to rise up and collaborate to serve the people of Surabaya.

"I entrust the city of Surabaya to all of you, because Surabaya needs fighter leaders. Don't just sit behind a desk and don't dare to make a decision. This is a tough task, but God willing, it will be a charity for you," he said.
