Reported To The KPK, Gibran Says 'Arrest Now Gpp', Then Chooses To Leave

JAKARTA - A day after being reported to the KPK, Gibran Rakabuming was still being asked to comment. If at first the tone was calm, this time the voice of the Mayor of Surakarta was a bit resentful.

"Just report it, prove it, wong is arrested now, just arrest him now," said Gibran at the Surakarta City Government City Hall, Tuesday, January 11.

"Wes's report came in anyway, just prove it, I was wrong, I checked," he continued.

Two children of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Kaesang Pangarep, were reported by the Jakarta State University (UNJ) lecturer and '98 activist, Ubedilah Badrun, to the anti-corruption commission. The accusation is no joke. Both are suspected of corruption and money laundering (TPPU).

"This report is related to allegations of corruption and/or money laundering (TPPU) related to allegations of KKN in business relations between the president's son and a business group suspected of being involved in forest fires," Ubedilah told reporters, Monday, January 10.

The case dates back to 2015. At that time, there was a large company named PT SM which was already a suspect in forest fires and had been sued by the Ministry of Environment for a value of Rp. 7.9 trillion.

However, the Supreme Court (MA) only granted the claim of Rp. 78 billion. Ubedilah said this happened after President Jokowi's son formed a joint company with a high-ranking subsidiary of PT SM in February 2019.

For Ubedilah, the allegations of corruption, collusion and nepotism very clearly involve Gibran, Kaesang, and the children of PT SM officials because of the injection of capital investment funds from a venture company.

"Twice, funds have been disbursed. The figure is approximately Rp. 99.3 billion in the near future. And after that, the president's son bought shares in a company whose figure is also quite fantastic at Rp. 92 billion," said Ubedilah.

"And that for us is a big question mark, can a young person who has just set up a company easily get a capital investment with a quite fantastic figure if he is not the son of the president," he added.
