4 Omicron Patients In Bandung Still One Family

BANDUNG - The Bandung Regency Health Office (Dinkes) said that the four residents who were confirmed to have COVID-19, the Omicron variant, were still in the same family.

Head of the Bandung Regency Health Office, Grace Mediana, said the four people were residents of Bandung Regency who had traveled abroad from areas affected by Omicron.

"Immediately, the whole family was isolated again at Al Ihsan Hospital," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 10.

He explained that the four residents had been in isolation at the Wisma Atlet RSDC for 14 days, then they returned home to undergo self-isolation for 10 days.

After that, they carried out a PCR test again and also tested using the Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) method at the Regional Health Laboratory (Labkesda) West Java.

With Omicron's confirmed results, they are currently undergoing isolation at the Al-Ihsan Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Bandung Regency.

Even so, Grace ensured that the four people being treated were in good condition.

He hoped that there would be no spread of Omicron due to the four confirmed people.

"The results are improving, hopefully it won't have an impact on the spread," he said.

West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said in West Java so far the number of Omicron cases is still below 50 cases.

He ensured that the provincial government continued to be prepared to anticipate local deployments by taking advantage of the experience in handling the Delta variant.

"There has been no where and how the reports came from, but the thing called Omicron was all leaked from the airport or border," said Ridwan Kamil.
