The Head of Tangerang Police, Kombes Pol Zain Dwi Nugroho at a press conference in Tangerang, Monday, said the arrests of the 28 gangsters were when the Police and TNI officers carried out large-scale operations to create conditions in three areas, such as Balaraja, Cikupa and Panongan, by seeing gangs of teenagers gathered together. carry sharp weapons.

"Yesterday, Saturday and Sunday, January 8 and 9, 2021, where in these three locations we secured approximately 28 people or motorcycle gangs," he said Monday, January 10, as reported by Antara.

He mentioned that of the 28 gangsters who resembled a motorcycle gang, 16 people were named as suspects, including two adult suspects, 12 child perpetrators and two others on the wanted list (DPO).

"Of these 28 people, we have determined as many as 16 suspects, consisting of two adults, 12 child perpetrators and two still DPOs," he said.

He said, from the discovery, a number of police officers immediately carried out developments. From the results of the examination, it is known that the sharp weapons carried by the gangster members were made by their respective groups.

In addition, officers in the field also found a number of evidence in the form of Molotov cocktails which were suspected to be used for brawls between the gangster groups.

"Then the Molotov cocktails and sharp weapons such as crulits and machetes were used for brawls, where they had made an agreement with other groups. Their goal was also to do that for their existence through social media so that later they could be feared by other gangs," he said.

As for all the evidence that was secured by his party, namely in the form of 4 cigars, 2 machetes, 7 units of motorcycles of various brands, one Molotov cocktail and 5 units of cellphones of various brands.

All suspects, he continued, who carry and store sharp weapons will be subject to Article 2 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 with a threat of 10 years in prison.

Meanwhile, suspects who deviate from Molotov cocktails are subject to Article 187 BIS KUHPIDANA with a threat of 8 years in prison.
