Apriyandi Can Only Surrender To Stop Being A Member Of The Tanjungpinang DPRD, Cancels His Lawsuit Against Gerindra

JAKARTA - Muhammad Apriyandi, son of the (deceased) Syahrul, former Mayor of Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands, resigned to being dismissed as a member of the local DPRD through the interim replacement (PAW) mechanism.

"I accept the party's decision," said Apriyandi when contacted from Tanjungpinang, Saturday, January 8.

He felt humbled by the Gerindra Party's decision, even though he initially intended to go against the decision legally.

"I've been thinking about it for a long time after discussing it with various parties," he said.

The interim shift (PAW) against him began to be executed after Governor Ansar Ahmad issued Decree Number 1495 of 2021 dated December 31, 2021. The decree was circulated to a number of parties since a day ago.

Apriyandi, who once served as a member of the Gerindra Tanjungpinang Faction, said that efforts to defend himself had actually been carried out several weeks ago, including explaining the accusations made by the Gerindra Tanjungpinang leadership to the Gerindra DPP.

So far, however, these allegations have not been proven.

"If I've explained it, then I still issue the Interim Alternation Decree, it means that you don't want to accept me anymore. So why am I fighting to be in the party again," he said.

Apriyandi has not decided whether to continue as a politician or not. As for his clothes, which contained the Golkar logo, he said the photo was old.

"For a while I'm back to being an entrepreneur," he said.

Based on the data, the Gerindra DPP decided to dismiss Apriyandi as a party cadre as well as a member of the Tanjungpinang DPRD because he did not pay donations to the party. However, Apriyandi some time ago had denied this because the party's contributions did not have to be paid every month.

He believes that the main problem with his dismissal was not about donations to the party, but other things.

"I haven't paid for a few months, previously it was smooth, there were no problems. I postponed the payment of this donation because the issue of dismissal was often heard, so it was quite disturbing," he said.
