Attorney General Witness Dismissal Of Claims On The Basis Of Restorative Justice In Jambi

JAMBI - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin witnessed the termination of prosecution based on the restorative justice granted by the District Attorney in Jambi for two criminal cases.

Attorney General Burhanuddin accompanied by Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes Fadil Zumhana and Head of the Legal Information Center Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak made a working visit to Jambi to witness the submission of the Decree on Termination of Prosecution Based on Restorative Justice.

The decision letter was issued by the Bungo District Prosecutor's Head Sapta Putra and the Merangin District Attorney RR Theresia Widorini.

In front of the Attorney General, Kajari Merangin RR Theresia Widorini said that the suspect Muhammad Susanto, the perpetrator of the theft, was a security guard who worked at the Family Raya bus pool and saw a lot of scrubbing iron in the workplace that was no longer useful.

Because he wanted to have it and wanted to help his family's medical expenses, he took an iron scrub and sold it to an iron collector.

Furthermore, the prosecutors who were trying to make peace with the victim both proposed that the legal process of the case be terminated.

Meanwhile, the case in Bungo concerns the collection of stolen cellphones.

Kajari Bungo, Sapta Putra, explained that on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at around 11.00 WIB near the Timmpe Hamlet Community Health Center, suspect Fredi Atanto was visited by two perpetrators of theft, namely Nija and Edy, to sell one unit of black Samsung A50 brand android mobile phone for Rp. 1 million.

Finally, the suspect Fredi was interested and offered IDR 900 thousand on the grounds that his cellphone was locked, which after it was discovered that it belonged to the victim witness Nelfi, which had been stolen at the Hanafi Bungo Hospital.

Based on the Attorney General's Regulation Number 15 of 2020 concerning Termination of Prosecution Based on Restorative Justice, two criminal cases on behalf of the suspects Ferdi and Muhammad Susanto were declared closed by law and did not proceed to the trial stage.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Burhannudin also said that with the submission of SKP2, starting today the suspect can be released and reunited with his family and the case has been terminated based on restorative justice.

The Prosecutor's Office asked the suspect not to do the same thing again in the future and continue to establish a relationship with the victim.

This is all due to the kindness of the victim's witness and his sincerity in apologizing to the suspect, therefore the Attorney General asked the suspect not to do the same thing again in the future and continue to establish a relationship with the victim.
