Regent: Garut Station Inauguration Waits For President

GARUT - Garut Regent, Rudy Gunawan, stated that the inauguration of the Garut Station and the reactivation of the train in Garut Regency, West Java are still waiting for the moment of President Joko Widodo's visit, which is rumored to be going to Garut.

"This train is waiting for the President's time", said Rudy Gunawan in Garut, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 7.

He said that President Jokowi was rumored to be visiting Garut at the Ministry of Agriculture event. His presence is said to be able to simultaneously inaugurate the Garut Station and the reactivation of the train in Garut.

"The president is indeed going to Garut, but it's a Ministry of Agriculture event, but we'll try later, we'll find time", he said.

The Regent conveyed that the Cibatu-Garut rail line as well as the construction of Garut Station and the stations it crosses have been completed.

The plan is to provide commercial train services from Garut, Cibatu, to Bandung, Padalarang, and Purwakarta.

"There will be an executive train coming to Garut", he said.

Overall, the train reactivation line from Cibatu Station to Garut can already be used, in fact, it has been used several times by several PT KAI officials, governors, and regents in the track review agenda.

Garut Station has also been completed complete with several facilities such as a mosque, vehicle parking area, and other public areas.
