JAKARTA - The Chairperson of the PDI-P, Megawati Soekarnoputri, finally commented on the declaration of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (US) by Din Syamsuddin and several other figures some time ago.

Megawati suggested that if someone wants to become president they should look for a party. Because, according to the rules when someone will run as a presidential candidate, of course they must get support from the party.

"Then I thought instead of making it like that why didn't I look for a party first," said Megawati.

On this occasion Megawati highlighted the number of people who already have parties but are trying their luck through independent channels. Megawati said that was not wrong. However, he questioned how they would work when elected.

Because, when elected, a regional head would need support from the legislature. "Don't forget to be independent if he doesn't have a faction. So how about discussing what is called government in the regions. There must be one anyway. The regents, mayors, governors will talk to the DPRD level II, DPRD," he said.
