20-Year-Old Teen Arrested For Carrying Gorilla Tobacco In Tamansari

BANTEN – A 20-year-old teenager was arrested by the Narcotics Department of the Banten Police for possession of gorilla tobacco. The man with the initials V was arrested in the Tamansari area, Pulomerak, Cilegon City, Banten.

The Banten Police's Narcotics Directorate, Grand Commissioner Pol. Suhermanto, said that the disclosure of V started from public information. After that, he immediately followed up on the report.

"Getting information that there was an illicit distribution of gorilla tobacco narcotics in Tamansari Village, Cilegon, Banten, which was carried out by V. Then, we followed up on this information and then arrested the suspect in front of the prayer room," explained Suhermanto in his statement, Thursday, January 6.

Suhermanto explained that V explained that the gorilla tobacco-type narcotics were obtained by buying them on social media at a price of Rp800 thousand.

"The suspect's purpose in possessing the gorilla tobacco-type narcotics is to resell it through his Instagram account," he continued.

For the purposes of the investigation, the suspect and evidence were brought to the Banten Police for further examination.

V is subject to Article 114 paragraph (1) Sub-Article 111 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law. No. 35 Th. 2009 Regarding Narcotics Jo Permenkes No. 4 of 2021 concerning Changes in Narcotics Classification and for his actions the suspect is threatened with a minimum sentence of 4 years and a maximum of 12 years.
