Teenager Dragged By Parangtritis Waves That Has Been Missing Since December 30 Hasn't Been Found

BANTUL - Fatih Abdi Muzaki (13), a victim who was swept away by waves on Parangtritis Beach, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, as of Wednesday evening, the joint SAR team has not been found, after being reported missing on December 30, 2021.

Head of the Yogyakarta Basarnas Office L. Wahyu Efendi said the search process by the joint SAR team had been carried out since the first day of the incident, or after receiving information from members of Sarsatlinmas Region 3 Parangtritis, Bantul Regency.

"Every effort has been made by the joint SAR to search for victims. Today (5/1) the search has entered its 7th day, and as of 17.00 WIB, the search results are still nil or have not been found," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 5th.

He said the search for victims had been optimized, both by joint SAR personnel and with the completeness of the main equipment that had been derived from several related elements.

"Yogyakarta Basarnas dispatched two jetsky units, one amphibious vehicle, and was assisted with the main SAR equipment of the Directorate of Water Police (Ditpolair) of the Yogyakarta Regional Police, one jetsky unit, and one jukung boat from Sarsatlinmas Region 3 Parangtritis," he said.

He said the main tool has been for seven days since it was reported missing on December 30, 2021, until today it has carried out a sea search that is part of the marine SRU (Search and Rescue Unit).

In addition to these main tools, the joint SAR also conducted searches using unmanned aircraft or drones from the Sultan Agung Rescue Drone Division to conduct searches via air, but the results were still to no avail.

"The SAR operation is also supported by all existing SAR potential, so that the total personnel involved in the Joint SAR from the first day amounted to approximately 100 personnel," he said.

The marine accident began when on December 30, 2021, at around 02.00 WIB, a group of beach visitors from the Bumiayu Islamic Boarding School, Brebes Regency, Central Java, arrived at Parangtritis Beach, Bantul, where the group immediately rested.

Then at 06.00 WIB, two people from the Islamic boarding school group, namely Fatih Abdi Muzaki (13) and Dani Ahwan (15) played in the water on the beach, but not long after that Fatih was dragged by the beach waves to the middle, but Dani, who tried to help, was dragged along with him. .

Sarsatlinmas and SAR Ditpolair officers who were on patrol immediately provided assistance. Dani was rescued and evacuated to the beach to get help, but Fatih, a resident of Cibitung, Bekasi, is still in the joint SAR search.
