BJ40 Plus Becomes BAIC Indonesia's Choice Car To Support DeXC Racing Team At AXCR

JAKARTA - BAIC Indonesia continues to innovate by not only presenting the latest products, but also collaborating. This time, collaborating with the DeXC Racing Team.

On this occasion, BAIC Indonesia has the opportunity to become a partner as a racing vehicle towards the international Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) championship in 2026.

One BAIC mainstay model, the BJ40 Plus, was chosen to be used by the DeXC Racing Team, which of course will later be modified for special purposes to participate in this competition.

BAIC Indonesia Chief Operating Officer Dhani Yahya, expressed his pride in participating with the DeXC team and appearing in an international motorsport event, carrying the name Indonesia.

"This participation is proof of the toughness of our products that have previously been tested in various world-class rally events, including the Taklimation of Rally and Rally Dakar in Saudi Arabia for three consecutive years," he said, in a statement to the media, Friday, February 21.

As is known, the Asia Cross Country Rally is a FIA certified cross-country rally competition, which has been held annually in Southeast Asia since 1996. This annual rally was organized by R1 Asia, a group of companies formerly known as ORTEV International.

The Asia Cross Country Rally route includes various types of terrain such as forests, swamps, river crossings, and also mud, and over the past few years, has covered almost every kind of challenge naturally offered, especially in the Asian region.

Designed as a test of driving and navigation, durability and teamwork, as well as preparation, durability and resilience of 4-wheeled vehicles, the Asia Cross Country Rally has gained loyal followers among 4-wheeled vehicle enthusiasts in many parts of Asia, and the BJ40 Plus will be tested in this event. Every year, the Asia Cross Country Rally provides a variety of terrain challenges for participants lasting 6 to 10 days and covers a distance of 2,000 km to 4,500 km.

In this collaboration, DEXC Racing & BAIC Indonesia will bring the big name of Indonesia in an international racing event at the Asian level, namely the Asia Cross Country Rally 2026 with a tough BAIC BJ40 PLUS vehicle, which has been designed and built specifically to compete in this international level event, according to the homologation standards and strict regulations of the world's motor-sport body, namely the FIA for the Asian level.
