Woman In Jember Allegedly Abused Her Child To Death

JEMBER - A woman in Sumberbaru District, Jember, East Java, with the initials IR (28) is suspected of molesting her biological child to death. IR is now being prosecuted.

The Head of the Sumberbaru Police, Fathur Rahman, said that the alleged abuse was revealed when residents treated the victim's body, Saturday, January 1. Residents were suspicious because the 7-year-old boy had bruises all over his body. Residents who feel strange about the child's death chose to report to the Sumberbaru Police.

"This morning, residents reported the alleged abuse to the police," he said, Wednesday, January 5.

Based on this report, the police immediately arrested the alleged perpetrator and conducted an investigation. The police also asked for information from neighbors, including the victim's teacher.

"This allegation is corroborated by the teacher's confession. On October 29, the teacher met a victim with bruises on his lips and mouth. When questioned, the victim admitted that her mother had beaten her," said Fathur.

This torture continued until the victim died.

"The alleged perpetrator has now been brought to the Resort Police by the PPA Unit for examination," he said.
