The Need To Pay Attention To The COVID-19 Protocol During Meetings In Offices And Co-working Spaces

JAKARTA - The emergence of the COVID-19 cluster in offices requires people to apply health protocols at work and hold closed meetings in offices. In addition, protocols also need to be applied when working in a co-working space.

Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Reisa Broto Asmoro explained that there are several COVID-19 prevention protocols for employees to hold work meetings in closed rooms.

"To prevent all loopholes that could potentially transmit COVID-19, health protocols must be carried out thoroughly, one of which is conducting meetings that require physical meetings," Reisa said during a discussion at Graha BNPB, East Jakarta, Tuesday, August 25.

First, the company must ensure distance maintenance in the meeting room. Then, meeting participants must be ensured that they are in good health.

"Before entering the room, one must pass standard procedures for adapting to new habits which include checking body temperature, washing hands, then wearing a mask," Reisa said.

Furthermore, avoid providing food and drinks, checking circulation and ventilation such as air conditioning, fans that cannot directly lead to meeting participants, and the maximum time limit for holding a meeting is 30 minutes.

"The discipline of implementing health protocols must be carried out when going to work, being at work, until returning home, including before entering the house," said Reisa.

Furthermore, when working in a co-working space, workers are encouraged to choose a personal space, such as having a partition on each table or having a private room.

"Try not to remove your mask when in public," said Reisa.

It is known that the Minister of Health has issued a Minister of Health Decree No. 382 which contains information on health protocols for 12 workplaces.

The working groups are markets, hotels, restaurants, places of worship, modes of transportation, salons or beauty and care services, as well as tourist attractions including events or creative services.

In general, this Minister of Health Decree mandates that all offices and workplaces must pay attention to the protection of individual health as well as public health.

All workplaces must also have a coordinator and team for handling COVID-19 to control the implementation of health protocols and conduct contact tracing if there are positive cases.
