DKI Builds 135 Flats For Bayam Villagers Affected By JIS Eviction

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that his party had started to build 135 residential units for the residents of Kampung Bayam whose houses were evicted due to the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).

"The structuring of Kampung Bayam has started from December 2021 to March 2022," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 5.

Riza revealed that the development of the Kampung Bayam arrangement was carried out by the BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo. However, he admitted that he did not know the amount of the budget for structuring the village located around the magnificent stadium.

"In principle, we will manage the JIS area as well as possible because it will not only become an icon of Jakarta, but in the future it will be our pride to have an international-class sports stadium and not inferior to stadiums that already exist in this world," he said.

Previously, Riza said that the residents of Kampung Bayam would receive flat housing facilities such as the residents of Kampung Akuarium.

"Yes, like in Kampung Aquarium. Our job, the government, is to ensure that we take sides with those who are weak. Leaders must side with the weak, unlucky, not yet intelligent, and have not met their needs, which are still difficult and poor. It is our job to find a solution," he concluded. The fate of the resident of Kampung Bayam, Papanggo, North Jakarta who is still stranded has been highlighted by a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Fadli Zon.

In his Twitter account, Fadli said that the residents of Kampung Bayam did not have the same fate as the residents of Kampung Akuarium who received flats from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan.

"Bayam Village has no luck as good as Aquarium Village. They were both evicted. Now the location of the former KP Bayam has become part of the stands of the magnificent JIS stadium. 500 families are scattered, only 50 families are left standing near the stadium. Please pay attention," said Fadli in the account @ fadlizon, quoted on Saturday, August 21.
