Police Raids COVID-19 Vaccinations At The Sidoarjo-Surabaya Border

SIDOARJO - Sidoarjo City Police, East Java, conducted a COVID-19 vaccination raid in the Sidoarjo-Surabaya border area to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including the Omicron variant.

Sidoarjo Police Chief, Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro, said his party also continues to provide education on the implementation of health protocols to people crossing the border area.

"The target of the raid and education on health protocols this time is motorists crossing from Surabaya to Sidoarjo", he said at the Waru Post, Sidoarjo, quoted by Antara on Tuesday, January 4.

He said that not a few drivers have been marginalized by officers, to check whether they have been vaccinated or not through the PeduliLindung application.

In addition, the Sidoarjo Police Chief, Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro, and his members taught health protocols while distributing masks and necessities, so that people would not be careless to wear masks when outside their homes.

Regarding vaccination raids and health education activities carried out at P1 Waru, Sidoarjo Police Chief Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro explained that this activity was an effort by the Police, TNI (Army), Government, and related parties in Sidoarjo Regency to anticipate the spread of the new variant of COVID-19, Omicron.

“Even though our first dose of vaccination has reached 83 percent. However, continuing to accelerate the acceleration of vaccination to achieve herd immunity and comply with health protocols, is an effective effort to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 and its new variant, Omicron", said Kusumo.

A resident of Sedati, Maulana after returning from Surabaya to Sedati, admitted that he was surprised that officers stopped motorists thinking they were traffic raids.
