DPD Gerindra Immediately Searching For Candidates For Governor Of DKI

JAKARTA - DPD adviser to the DKI Jakarta Gerindra Party, Mohamad Taufik, admitted that his party has not projected a figure to be promoted as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada.

However, Taufik views that the process of searching for the candidate for Jakarta's leader should start early this year. Therefore, he will encourage his party to implement it.

"I personally think that it is necessary to make an inventory of the figures who will lead Jakarta. I will suggest to the DPD as soon as possible," Taufik said when contacted, Tuesday, January 4.

Taufik explained that Gerindra's consideration in selecting candidates for governor of DKI was those who were suitable for carrying out the Jakarta development program after relinquishing the status of the nation's capital city.

"Jakarta is in a forward position, it's no longer the nation's capital. The state's capital has legally moved. What shape Jakarta will take, we don't understand. Whether it's a special economic city or what, now that will affect the criteria for the candidate for leader. ", explained Taufik. The deputy chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD also highlighted a number of suitable figures to replace Anies to lead Jakarta.

Taufik mentioned a number of names, including the former Mayor of South Tangerang, Airin Rachmi Diany; DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan; Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria; Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia; to Member of DPD RI Sylviana Murni.

"There is Mr. Deputy Governor, who has been Deputy Governor. Mr. Anies may still have a chance. There are other figures like Airin who I think have succeeded in leading Tangsel. There are others, for example, Brother Bahlil," he explained.
