Banjarmasin City: We Decide There Will Be No Distance Learning This Year, 100 Percent Of Students Enter Class

JAKARTA - The Banjarmasin City Education Office, South Kalimantan stated that it did not open the Distance Learning (PJJ) option in the even semester of 2021/2022.

According to the Head of the Banjarmasin City Education Office, Totok Agus Daryanto, in a circular issued on January 3, 2022, face-to-face learning (PTM) is fully implemented in all classes, no more PJJ. Again, 100 percent of students attend classes," he said in Banjarmasin, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 4. However, said Totok, if a student is confirmed to be positive for COVID-19 or is sick with COVID-19 symptoms and or has close contact with a confirmed person, positive for COVID-19 will still be served with PJJ.

"The only exception is this, if the student's parents do not agree to PTM without any of the above conditions, we do not open the PJJ option," he said.

He conveyed that this policy applies from PAUD/TK, SD and SMP, both public and private, starting from January 3, 2022.

According to him, the Banjarmasin Disdik decided that the full PTM should be carried out with a maximum duration of 6 hours a day, and that was adjusted to the level and grade level of the students.

Although the COVID-19 case in Banjarmasin City has been sloping, he continued, the implementation of PTM continues to apply strict and disciplined health protocols with a 5M approach (wearing masks, washing hands with soap, maintaining distance, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds).

Totok said schools with large numbers of students could schedule the arrival and departure of students in each study group to avoid crowds at the time of delivery and pick-up. 19 in the education unit or the number of people infected with COVID-19 in the education unit is 5 percent or more. "For this full PTM, there will certainly be an evaluation to make it even better, we will also continue to monitor it," he said.
