Yonif Task Force Help Lanny Jaya Papua Residents Build Clean Water Storage, Mamas Don't Need To Climb Hills Anymore

PAPUA - The Infantry Battalion MR 412/Kostrad Pos Malagay Task Force helped build reservoirs and clean water channels to meet the needs of residents of Lanny Jaya Regency in the mountains of Papua.​​​

The commander of the Malagay Post, Battalion 412/Kostrad, Inf. Captain Zulfahmi Khaidir Depari said that previously the post members had heard local residents' complaints regarding the difficulty of getting clean water.

"Hearing the complaint, the postal members worked together with local residents to build clean water reservoirs. This has long been expected by Malagay residents," he said in a written statement received at Lanny Jaya, Antara, Saturday, January 1.

With the existence of a clean water reservoir built by local residents, mothers do not have to climb the hill behind the village to get clean water.

"The location of the clean water reservoir is quite strategic, in the middle of public facilities, namely between churches, village halls, district offices and health centers," said Depari.

With this clean water reservoir, it is hoped that it can provide solutions and benefits to the community, so that the presence of the TNI Task Force provides benefits for residents at the assignment.

Meanwhile, the Head of Numbokawi Village, Leis Kiwo, said that so far, residents have been taking clean water for washing, cooking and drinking, they have to walk quite a distance to the water source on the edge of the forest.

"With the existence of a clean water reservoir, the residents are greatly helped. On behalf of the residents, I would like to thank the TNI gentlemen," he said.
